5 Days Mount Kenya Burguret Route Trek

Overview

Embark on a wild and adventurous climb with our 5 Days Mount Kenya Burguret Route Trek, the most remote and least traveled route on Mount Kenya. This route is perfect for experienced trekkers seeking solitude, untouched wilderness, and a true off the beaten path experience.

The Burguret route offers dense forests, bamboo zones, open moorlands, and dramatic alpine scenery. Unlike other routes, it has fewer established facilities, making it more challenging but incredibly rewarding. The trek culminates with a sunrise summit at Point Lenana (4,985m), offering breathtaking views across Kenya.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Burguret Gate Trek to Forest Camp

Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Nairobi to the Burguret side of Mount Kenya. This part of the trail is less defined and offers a true wilderness experience, with chances to see wildlife and hear forest sounds. The trek is moderate but can be muddy depending on weather conditions. You will camp in a forest clearing surrounded by nature.
