Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your photographic safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha toward Tarangire National Park. After entering the park, begin your first game drive with your camera ready to capture Tanzania’s spectacular wildlife and landscapes. Tarangire is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, enormous baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, and diverse birdlife.

Spend the day photographing elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, and other wildlife.  Enjoy a picnic lunch during the game drive before continuing your exploration.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, begin your journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. As you enter the Serengeti, begin your photographic game drive across the vast plains. The Serengeti offers incredible opportunities for wildlife photography, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and numerous bird species.

Your guide will help you search for interesting photographic opportunities while allowing time to observe animal behavior. Continue your game drive toward your accommodation, stopping along the way whenever there are worthwhile wildlife and landscape photography opportunities.

Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti Photographic Safari

Wake up early for a sunrise photographic game drive in the Serengeti. The early morning light creates beautiful opportunities for photographing wildlife against the golden African landscape.

Spend the day exploring the Serengeti, focusing on wildlife behavior and photography opportunities. Depending on the season and location of the animals, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebra as well as predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Take a picnic lunch in the wilderness and continue your photographic exploration throughout the afternoon.

As the sun begins to set, enjoy a final game drive during the golden hour before returning to camp.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Wake up early and depart toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for your final photographic game drive.

The crater’s high concentration of wildlife provides opportunities to photograph lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, flamingos, and, with luck, the endangered black rhino.

The crater also offers spectacular landscape photography, with its forests, grasslands, lakes, and dramatic crater walls creating a unique backdrop. Enjoy a picnic lunch before ascending from the crater and beginning your journey back to Arusha.
