Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your Big Five safari begins with a morning departure from Arusha toward Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant populations, ancient baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a full day game drive through the park in search of elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and other wildlife.

Keep your camera ready as you explore the park’s beautiful landscapes and wildlife-rich areas. In the evening, continue to your safari lodge or tented camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart Tarangire and travel toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive through the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania before entering the Serengeti.

Begin your game drive as you make your way toward your accommodation. The Serengeti is home to an extraordinary variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest. Depending on the season and location of the animals, you may also encounter large concentrations of wildlife associated with the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti Big Five Safari

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before heading out for a full-day game drive in the Serengeti.

Spend the day exploring different areas of the park with your experienced safari guide, searching for the Big Five and other wildlife.

The Serengeti offers excellent opportunities to observe lions and other predators, while elephants and buffalo can often be found moving across the plains. With patience and good timing, you may also have the opportunity to spot the elusive leopard resting in trees or hidden among vegetation.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your afternoon game drive. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Serengeti before departing toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue your wildlife experience as you travel through the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania. Arrive in the Ngorongoro area and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the highlands.

Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at your lodge or enjoy an optional afternoon activity.In the evening, enjoy dinner and prepare for your final Big Five experience inside the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a final game drive. The crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife and provides excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, and other species.

The crater is also one of the places where you may have the opportunity to see the endangered black rhino.

Enjoy a picnic lunch before ascending from the crater and beginning your journey back to Arusha. Arrive in Arusha in the afternoon, marking the end of your 5 Days Tanzania Big Five Safari.
